June 8, 2017: Total of 52 incidents listed
Incident report categories of note: 19 disturbance-related, 6 homeless-related, 1 burglary, 0 robberies, 9 collisions, 4 assault reports, 0 stolen vehicles reported, 4 petty thefts.
4:29 a.m., Petty Theft, Denny’s on Sunrise Blvd. A “dine and dash” incident was reported at Denny’s, which also involved a stolen cell phone. The suspect was described as a white male adult with dark hair and a mustache. Disposition listed: unable to locate.
10:09 a.m., Collision Injury, Greenback/Mariposa. A vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Greenback Lane and Mariposa Avenue, with air bags deployed and one party who appeared to be injured. Eight other collisions were reported the same day, including one hit-and-run incident. Rain may have been a factor, as police have attributed past spikes in collisions to wet roadways.
2:19 p.m., Shoplifting, Target on Sunrise Blvd. Police arrested a shoplifting suspect who was in custody at the Target store on Sunrise Boulevard.
5:24 p.m., Reckless Driving, Greenback/Sunrise. Police were advised by the California Highway Patrol of a road rage incident on Greenback Lane involving a driver who was cut off by a silver Chevy Malibu sedan. The Malibu driver also reportedly “brandished a black handgun” at the other driver. Disposition listed: Advised.

8:29 a.m., Homeless Camp, O’reilly Auto Parts on Antelope Rd. A homeless camp with 15 transients and several vehicles was reported behind the O’reilly Auto Parts store. The camp was described as “continuing to grow with human waste and trash” piling up, despite prior police involvement. Disposition listed: advised.
8:30 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Olive Tree Wy. A repo agent reportedly encountered trouble while trying to repossess a vehicle on Olive Tree Way, near Woodmore Oaks and Sunrise Boulevard. The agent told police the owner had “jumped into the vehicle which is on the hook and refused to get out,” saying they would “go to jail before they get out of their car.” Disposition listed: assisted.
10:02 a.m., Vandalism, Crosswood Park Apartments on San Tomas Dr. A caller reported repeated vandalism to her car and said she “has had to replace her tires four times in the past nine months.” The caller said a neighbor in her complex may be a suspect, but did not have any evidence. 3:54 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Sunrise/Greenback. A caller told police she lost her cell phone at a cigarette store at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane. When she called her phone, a transient woman answered and said she found the phone “but wants to sell the phone back.” Disposition listed: assisted.
7:03 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Renaissance Apartments on Greenback Ln. A vehicle was reportedly seen speeding with a barefoot female “on top of the car” and a verbal argument going on between a man and a woman. Disposition listed: advised.
June 4, 2017: Total of 52 incidents listed
Incident report categories of note: 22 disturbance-related, 5 homeless-related, 2 burglaries, 0 robberies, 1 collisions, 2 assault reports, 2 stolen vehicle reported, 1 petty theft.
12:09 a.m., Loitering, Surf And Skate Bikini Shop on Greenback Ln. Six transients were reportedly sleeping in front of the skate shop, with another eight camping in front of the tile store next door. Disposition listed: “unable to locate.”
1:11 a.m., DUI/Disturbance Verbal, 7440 Club on Auburn Blvd. Police arrested a man in his 20’s after he reportedly used three fake $100 bills with the same serial number and had caused a verbal disturbance at the bar. Police also responded to the bar 30 minutes later involving a report of a drunk man who got into a vehicle and “tried to run over security” and then drove off in the wrong way of traffic. Officers were again contacted around 5 p.m. the same day and advised a caller at the 7440 Club who said he was “being chased.”
2:26 p.m., Stolen Vehicle, Sunrise Mall. A blue 2002 Subaru Forester was reportedly stolen at Sunrise Mall within the past hour. Disposition listed: advised.
9:19 p.m., Reckless Driving, Sun Hill Dr. A man in a blue 1990’s Ford Mustang was reportedly “racing up and down the street” and doing donuts. The vehicle was described as having a black hood, with no brake or running lights on. Disposition listed: “unable to locate.”
