Citrus Heights will attract some big names in the music industry this April, with CBS Radio announcing a Pet-a-Palooza event lineup last week that includes American Idol’s Haley Reinhart and singer-songwriters Matt Nathanson and Ben Rector.
The annual Pet-a-Palooza event, billed as “Sacramento’s biggest free pet event,” will take place on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rusch Park. Performers will take to the stage at various times during the event.
Other activities at the event will include a “doggie obstacle course,” pet adoption area, beer garden, face painting, kids area and food vendors, according to a CBS event poster. The event is also scheduled to feature an exotic animal show from Wild Things, Inc.
Pet-a-Palooza events at Rusch Park have drawn 7500 to 10,000 people in the past, according to the park district’s Marty Buell, but estimates have been difficult to determine because the free event doesn’t require attendees to check in or purchase tickets.
Rusch Park is located at 7801 Auburn Blvd. in Citrus Heights.
