Local Safeway celebrates completion of remodel
Safeway of Northern California held a Re-Grand opening of its Citrus Heights store at 7301 Greenback Ln. on Thursday, celebrating the completion of an extensive remodeling of the store’s interior. About 50 people attended the event, including Mayor Steve Miller. As a part of the festivities, Store Director Richard Lopez selected two local charities to receive a donation of $1,500 each. Donations went to the Citrus Heights Historical Society and the Sunrise Christian Food Ministry.

The remodel includes signage that identifies store isles with names of local streets, such as Fountain Square Drive. The store now also features photos of historic Citrus Heights businesses, such as Harris Welding and Hall’s Market. A new, separate area in the back of the store was also created to allow employees to process online orders more efficiently.
