Flag burning ceremony set for June 14 at Rusch Park
American Legion Post 637 will host a flag-burning retirement ceremony at Rusch Park on Flag Day, June 14, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Organizers are careful to note that while flag burning may sound “un-patriotic,” burning is among approved methods to retire a heavily worn or tattered American flag, according to the U.S. Flag Code. The ceremony will be held in Veterans Grove, inside the park. Anyone with old or worn American Flags are asked to bring them.
