A Roseville-based gym that specializes in women’s weight lifting classes is expanding to Citrus Heights with a second location near Stones Casino.
Iron Addiction held an open house on Friday, Dec. 1, at their new location and owner Trish Wood said she hopes to draw customers from as far away as the Bay Area with easy freeway access. Wood has been in business 14 years, offering body building and personal training, she said.
“I really like the location next to the freeway, and it’s right next to Stones Casino,” Wood said. “It’s really convenient for people commuting back and forth to Sacramento. I have a lot of clients that actually come from the Bay Area to train with me and to use me for posing and do competition prep too.”
Wood said she hopes to open the new Citrus Heights location by Jan. 1, with plans to be open 24 hours like her Roseville location. The business employs about 10 people currently, and Wood said she is looking for additional staff to work the supplement store as well as personal trainers.
“We specialize in women’s weight lifting classes, which no one else in the area does that,” she said. “And also competition prep posing, so we do the esthetic part of bodybuilding and lifestyle as well as just the health and fitness aspect of it too, we work with people of all ages.”
The gym has a “full gamut of services,” Wood said, with specialized equipment, personal training, and small group training for all ages. She told attendees at the open house that more equipment is also scheduled to be delivered.
The business owner said she has also acquired another suite in the same center, where she plans to offer tanning, wellness, and recovery after workout sessions.
“My idea is to have the personal training and fitness here and then you go to the salon to do red light therapy, cold plunge.”
Iron Addiction 2.0 is located at 6412 Tupelo Drive, and offers various membership pricing options starting at $125 per month, or discounted longer-term plans, according to the company’s website. Pre-sale memberships are also being sold at a discounted rate.
