December is filled with events in Citrus Heights. Here’s 10 of them

Events planned in Citrus Heights during the month of December include a laser light show, the city’s tree lighting, a holiday concert, performances of the Nutcracker, and more.

Laser Show. The Sunrise Mall will be hosting a Night Market on Friday, Dec. 1st, which will include two 45-minute laser light shows. The Night Market begins at 4 p.m. followed by two laser shows, at 6 and 7 p.m. For more information, see story: Laser light show, night market planned outside Sunrise Mall

Craft Fair. Foundation Christian Church is hosting their annual Holiday Boutique and Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The craft fair features craft and food vendors and free photos with Santa. Tree Lighting. The City of Citrus Heights will have its annual tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 6 from 6-8:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 6360 Fountain Square Drive. For more information visit the city’s website.

High School Show. Mesa Verde High School Theater and Mesa Alumni Theater are hosting a winter variety show at Mesa Verde’s campus on Dec. 7-8 beginning at 7 p.m. For more information, visit the high school’s website. Mesa Verde High School is located at 7501 Carriage Drive.

Holiday Concert. The Capitol Pops concert band will host a holiday concert on Dec. 9 at Rusch Park. The free event begins at 7 p.m. For more information please visit sunriseparks.com. Rusch Park is located at 7801 Auburn Blvd.

Brunch with Santa. Sunrise Recreation and Parks District on Dec. 10 is hosting a Brunch with Santa event for children ages 4-10. Brunch is provided by the Antelope Lions Club and costs $30. For more information visit sunriseparks.com. Rusch Park Community Center is located at 7801 Auburn Blvd.

Chili Cook-Off. The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second annual Chili Cook Off for its members. The cook-off event will take place at the Citrus Heights Community Center on Dec. 12 beginning at 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact the Chamber via their website. Nutcracker. Sunrise MarketPlace is presenting performances of the Nutcracker, performed by the Sac Civic Ballet on Thursday, Dec. 14. Performances begin at 5:15 p.m. and will take place inside the mall. For more information, visit the event page. Sunrise Mall is located at 6041 Sunrise Blvd.

Pancake Fundraiser. Citrus Heights Little League is hosting a Pancake breakfast With Santa on Dec. 16 at Foundation Christian Church. All proceeds will go toward the Citrus Heights Little League’s spring season. Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. For more information, please visit the event page. Skate Night. Sunrise Rollerland is hosting a Winter Wonderland skate night on Thursday, Dec. 21, which will feature one long skating session from 6-9 p.m., face painting, games, and a hot chocolate bar.
