City’s ‘Best Lights’ contest seeks submissions for best decor in Citrus Heights

Sentinel staff report–
Through Dec. 19, the City of Citrus Heights is seeking submissions for the best-decorated homes this holiday season — with this year featuring seven new contest categories.

The annual “Best Lights in Citrus Heights” contest for 2022 includes the following categories, according to a news release from the city:

  • Griswold Award: Because you can never have too many lights!
  • Santa’s Favorite: Best appearance or theme.
  • North Pole Award: Best neighborhood or street/cul-de-sac (Multi house displays on the
    same street).
  • Hollywood Christmas: Best use of characters (Frosty, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Buddy the Elf, etc.)
  • Outdoor Christmas Tree: Best decorated tree (any tree in your yard).
  • Jingle All the Way: Best use of music and/or animation that bring your Winter Wonderland to life.
  • Jack Frost: Chilliest display of icicles and white lights.

Photos of decorated homes or businesses are to be sent to communications@citrusheights.net by 5 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2022. Winners will be announced on Dec. 22.
