Citrus Heights police on Thursday afternoon responded to a bank robbery call at Union Bank on Sunrise Boulevard.

Police Lt. Chad Morris told The Sentinel in an email Friday that officers responded to the Union Bank at 5748 Sunrise Blvd. The suspect fled before police arrived, Morris said.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Sept. 15.

No injuries were reported, and a heavy police presence could be seen at the location for most of the afternoon with multiple patrol vehicles and a crime scene van. A Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit was also at the scene.

Bank employees referred all questions to the company’s corporate communications office. A number provided to The Sentinel by a bank employee could not be reached by press time Friday.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Citrus Heights Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-AA-CRIME.
