Reports on social media of police activity and the possible discovery of a body on Saturday night near Fair Oaks Boulevard and Greenback Lane were confirmed by police on Tuesday.
Citrus Heights Police Lt. Chad Morris said in an email that officers responded to the area of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Greenback Lane on Sept. 3 and found a deceased adult female in her 30s or 40s. Morris said the coroner’s office will identify the woman and determine a cause of death, but police do not suspect foul play.
As of Sept. 6, the website for the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office does not currently list the death. However, the coroner typically takes several days to post recent deaths, pending notification of next of kin.
