Citrus Heights man arrested in Folsom
A 52-year-old man from Citrus Heights was arrested on July 20 on the 400 block of East Bidwell Street in Folsom for drug and parole-related charges, Gold Country Media reported on Thursday. The man arrested was identified as Alfred Busby III.

Nine residents pull papers to run for City Council, so far
A total of nine residents have pulled papers to run for City Council so far, according to a July 30 report from the City Clerk’s Office. For District 2 the names are: MariJane Lopez-Taff, Michael Nishimura, James Tipton and Steve Durham. For District 4: Manuel Perez, Jayna Karpinski-Costa, and Albert Fox. For District 5: Porsche Middleton and Natalee Price. None of the nine have submitted the necessary paperwork to qualify, but have until Aug. 12 to do so. (See candidate report)

Obituary: Gerald Wayne Brewer (1948-2022)
Gerald “Jerry” Brewer, a San Juan High School alumni, passed away at his home in Denny, California, on July 5th, according to an obituary published last week. He is described as a “lover of all things wild” and is remembered for his love, kindness and humor. (See full obituary)
