Following an initial story by The Sentinel last week, CBS 13 published a story on Tuesday featuring an interview with Citrus Heights Vice Mayor Tim Schaefer on his concerns about too many fast-food restaurants in the city. Fox 40 reported Friday on a weekend fundraiser going on in Citrus Heights, with firefighters collecting donations at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane. The annual “Fill the Boot for Burns” fundraiser sends money to the Firefighters Burn Institute. (See story)
Obituary: Shirley Alene Hicks (1930-2021)
Citrus Heights resident Shirley Hicks passed away on Dec. 28 in Citrus Heights, according to an obituary published last week. She received a Bachelor of Art’s degree from Arizona State University and taught high school music in the Sacramento area, along with raising her four children. She was a longtime member of the Citrus Heights United Methodist Church, and her two great loves of family and music “filled her life,” her obituary says. (See full obituary)
