The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
Tuesday, May 28, 2019: Total of 76 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 17 calls regarding suspicious activities, 19 disturbance-related, 12 homeless/transient-related, 1 grand theft, 7 petty thefts, 1 burglary, 4 assault reports, 5 collisions, 2 stolen vehicle reports, and 1 report of domestic violence.
9:57 a.m., Vandalism, Army Recruiting Station on Macy Plaza Drive. A government vehicle was reportedly vandalized over Memorial Day Weekend at an army recruiting station near Sunrise Mall.
10:13 a.m., Vandalism, Keyntel St. Police were advised of an “ongoing” issue involving a resident’s vehicle being vandalized on a residential street near Brooktree Park.
11:27 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Eco Thrift Store on Greenback Ln. A woman was reportedly “throwing merchandise into the aisles” at a thrift shop. Police were told she also pushed another customer and was “calling people racial names.”
11:50 a.m., Assault, Pastor’s Auto Care at Sunrise/Old Auburn. Police were contacted after a transient man reportedly punched a mechanic in the chest at Pastor’s Auto Care.
2:54 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Villaview Drive. A woman called police and said she had been the victim of fraud involving “an online scam for a monetary grant.”
3:46 p.m., Burglary, Butternut Drive. Police were notified that a residence in the northwestern area of Citrus Heights had been burglarized in the past 30 minutes. No signs of forced entry were observed.
4:39 p.m., Collision Non Injury, Sunrise/Greenback. A caller told police they had been clipped by a Regional Transit bus.
6:41 p.m., Petty Theft, Food Maxx on Sunrise Blvd. Police were contacted after a man allegedly walked out of the grocery store with an 18-pack of beer he did not pay for.
7:09 p.m., Assault w/ Weapon, Cook Ave. Two men were reportedly fighting in the street on Cook Avenue, near Auburn Boulevard. Police were advised that one of the men had a gun, according to second-hand information provided by the caller.
7:31 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Auburn Blvd. A homeless man had reportedly locked himself inside a laundromat next to Panchito Mexican Restaurant on Auburn Blvd. Police were advised there was “a mess” inside the laundromat.
7:35 p.m., Assault w/ Weapon, Tiffers Studio on Auburn Blvd. A man was reportedly trying to hit people with a stick at a salon and supply studio on the 7600 block of Auburn Boulevard.
8:10 p.m., Homeless Camp, Walgreens at Antelope/Sunrise. A shopping cart with piled up belongings was reported on a sidewalk outside Walgreens, next to 7 Flags Express Car Wash on Sunrise Boulevard.
