The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Saturday, May 11, 2019. Additional bulletins are linked at the end of this article.
Saturday, May 11, 2019: Total of 66 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 14 calls regarding suspicious activities, 21 disturbance-related, 4 homeless/transient-related, 2 grand thefts, 2 petty thefts, 4 vehicle burglaries, 4 assault reports, 5 collisions, no stolen vehicles, and 1 report of domestic violence.
1:33 a.m., Assault at 7440 Club on Auburn Blvd. An “uncooperative” caller told police they had been in a physical fight with a security guard at the 7440 Club. About eight hours later, another police log entry states that a victim called to report that a bouncer at the 7440 Club had “grabbed his cell phone out of his hand and caused him injury.” It was unclear if the two reports referred to the same incident.
8:00 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Sampolo Ct. Police were advised that the gutter of a roof in a residential area “smells extremely bad, especially in the morning.” No further details were listed.
8:03 a.m., Burglary Vehicle, Bremen Drive. A caller reported that their vehicle had been broken into overnight on Bremen Drive, near Greenback Lane. Both side mirrors were reportedly smashed and unknown items taken. Three other vehicle break-ins were reported the same day, including one on Greenback Lane.
10:11 a.m., Fraud/Forgery, Bon Appetit on Greenback Ln. Police were contacted by a local business after they received a phone call from someone claiming to be with SMUD and “saying that they needed $798, otherwise they were going to turn off their electricity.”
1:16 p.m., Collision Non-Injury, Riebes Auto Center on Auburn Blvd. A vehicle reportedly crashed into an auto parts store and then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
2:56 p.m., Hit and Run Non-Injury, Costco on Auburn Blvd. Police were contacted by a woman who said another driver had “purposely rammed” into her vehicle while she was waiting for a parking spot at Costco.
3:33 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Stock Ranch Nature Preserve on Stock Ranch Rd/Dead End. Transients in the nature preserve area behind Costco were reportedly “very aggressive” when a caller tried to take a walk through the park.
4:07 p.m., Grand Theft, Sam’s Club on Greenback Ln. Police were called after an individual entered the store and stole $3,000 in tobacco.
6:13 p.m., Shoplifting, Zumiez at Sunrise Mall. Loss prevention staff contacted police after taking a shoplifting suspect into custody. The value of goods involved was listed at under $950.
7:55 p.m., Reckless Driving, Pratt Ave. A red Ferrari was reportedly observed “racing up and down the street” on a residential side street off Auburn Boulevard.
9:41 p.m., Grand Theft, Noodles & Co. on Sunrise Blvd. Police were called after a man reportedly snatched a purse off a table at Noodles & Co. in the Birdcage Shopping Center.
