Since August, Citrus Heights police have begun regularly publishing names and photos of most-wanted suspects sought by law enforcement — and so far police say that effort has proved successful.

“The CHPD most-wanted list is working quite well,” Sgt. Jason Baldwin told The Sentinel via email on Wednesday, following the release of an updated list of suspects on the police department’s social media accounts. “Wanted subjects are turning themselves in or, clearing up their warrants. Citizens have been giving tips and people are keeping their eyes out for those listed.”

The department’s latest list of eight most-wanted suspects was published on Sept. 20 and included four new faces: Anthony James Bost, Paul Valencia, Joseph Ryan Manseau, and Jason Munoz Hall. Their alleged crimes range from drug-related offenses to burglary and resisting arrest.

Sgt. Baldwin said the newcomers replaced four other most-wanted suspects for a variety of reasons, including two suspects who had “cleared up” their warrants and two others who had been replaced by higher-priority suspects. Warrants can typically be cleared if the individual shows up to court.

Baldwin said Anthony Bost booted 22-year-old Alexander Prikhodko off the most-wanted list after earning himself a more fresh no-bail warrant for alleged narcotics violations, although Prikhodko is still wanted by police for narcotics violations with bail set at $10,500.

Similarly, 41-year-old Justin Lee Caton — still wanted by police for grand theft — was booted off the most-wanted list by 23-year-old Paul Valencia, who had two no-bail warrants and an active arrest warrant for burglary, resisting arrest, and possession of a firearm by a felon, Baldwin said. Valencia was later confirmed to have been taken into custody, so his name will be replaced on the department’s next most-wanted list.

As previously reported on The Sentinel, police said another suspect who had appeared in a prior most-wanted list last month was also arrested.
