Citrus Heights will soon be home to another eatery this summer, with Sourdough & Co. planning to open a new sandwich shop on Sunrise Boulevard.
Sourdough & Co. Spokeswoman Linda Janco told The Sentinel last week that the company’s new location is targeting an opening date “toward the end of June.” The new shop will replace an old Cash for Gold business at 5437 Sunrise Blvd., next to the Habit Burger Grill.
Janco said Sourdough & Co. currently has seven locations in the Sacramento region, with the first location opening in the El Dorado Hills Town Center nine years ago. The original location has earned a 4-out-of-5 star rating from nearly 100 reviewers on Yelp, with comments raving about fresh-baked sourdough bread, quick service, and clam chowder bread bowls.
The new Citrus Heights location is part of a regional expansion, Janco said, with four to five other locations slated to open this year in the Sacramento area. The company’s website lists a total of 10 new locations “coming soon,” with three more in Sacramento, and additional shops to open in Grass Valley, Tracy, Vacaville, Pleasanton, Rocklin, and Livermore.
On its website, Sourdough & Co. says its focus is to offer high-quality deli sandwiches with casual dining in an “old-time style” environment. The company also accepts orders online, but several reviewers on Yelp have complained about custom online orders not being filled correctly.
Job applications are currently being accepted for the new Citrus Heights location and can be submitted online at sourdoughandcompany.com
