2017 Citrus Heights Police Logs: domestic violence, fraud, skinny dipping

Latest Citrus Heights police logs in April include an arrest for counterfeit money, skinny dippers at an apartment complex on Sunrise Boulevard, a man walking out with a full shopping cart at Safeway without paying, and allegations of strangling during a domestic violence incident.

The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins, from April 21 to April 27, 2017:

April 27, 2017: Total of 54 incidents listed.
Incident report categories of note: 23 disturbance-related, 5 homeless-related, 1 burglary, 3 collisions, 2 assault reports, 1 stolen vehicle, 6 petty thefts.

8 a.m., Reckless driving, Mesa Verde. Police were advised that parents were stopping in front of a no parking sign on a blind turn on Carriage Drive behind Mesa Verde High School in order to let students out of their vehicles each morning. Disposition listed: assisted.

8:33 a.m., Domestic violence, Circlet Wy. A caller had reportedly been strangled and had “marks on neck, injuries to chest, face, [and] all over body.” No other details were provided. Disposition listed: arrest.

11:32 a.m., Fraud/forgery, Fountain Square Market on Greenback Ln. A man was arrested after reportedly getting in a verbal argument with the market owner over a fake $100 bill “that he claims he got from the bank.” Disposition listed: arrest.

1:40 p.m., Petty theft, Safeway at Greenback/San Juan. A man reportedly loaded a shopping cart full of items and then walked out without paying. Police were advised that the man was currently on foot in the parking lot. Disposition listed: cancelled.

2:43 p.m., Verbal disturbance, Rite Aid at Madison/Sunrise. Two customers were reportedly inside the store yelling at employees because they were not allowed to do a return without a receipt. Disposition listed: assisted.

5:56 p.m., Shoplifting, Sunrise Mall. An arrest was made after a suspect was detained for shoplifting inside the Sears store. Disposition listed: arrest.

April 26, 2017: Total of 61 incidents listed.
Incident categories of note: 20 disturbance related, 5 homeless related, 2 burglaries, 5 petty thefts, 3 assault reports, 2 stolen vehicles, 8 collisions.

12:02 a.m., Noise disturbance, Sunrise Commons Apartments on Sunrise Boulevard. Several people were loudly “skinny dipping” at the Sunrise Commons Apartments, after pool hours. Disposition listed: cancelled.

6:32 p.m., Fraud, Westgate Drive. A woman told police she had received a call from from someone who claimed to be her granddaughter, stating she had been in a car accident in Florida. The woman then wired $4,000 to someone “claiming to be an attorney.” Disposition listed: advised.

April 24, 2017: Total of 50 incidents listed.
Incident categories of note: 20 disturbance related, 13 homeless related, 7 petty thefts, 4 collisions, 4 burglaries, 1 assault report.

7 a.m., Disturbance loitering, Blackstar Drive. Police were notified of a man “living in backyard,” who has been an ongoing problem for neighbors on Blackstar Drive near Zenith Drive and Antelope Road. The man was described as “always drunk,” and other transients reportedly frequent the location as well. Disposition listed: advised.

6 p.m., Burglary, Van Maren Ln. Three bikes were reported stolen from a garage, along with keys and phone chargers from the home. The event possibly occurred overnight. Several people were reportedly seen outside the home by a roommate around 3 a.m. Disposition listed: report taken.

11:42 p.m., Petty theft, A-Applied Mailing Service on Antelope Rd. An ice chest was reportedly stolen from off a front porch while left unattended momentarily, a caller told police. The caller said he drove around with a flashlight and had located the ice chest in a transient camp “to the rear of the commercial buildings on Antelope Road.” The man was able to retrieve his ice chest after confronting the homeless individuals, but told police “they have lots more stolen property” and are also “on drugs.” Disposition listed: advised.

4:15 p.m., Injury collision, Antelope/Garden Gate. Two vehicles collided on Antelope Road at Garden Gate Drive, causing injury to at least one person. Police were told by one party involved that the collision “was caused by a pedestrian.” Disposition listed: advised.
