In her first news update as Sacramento County Supervisor, former Citrus Heights councilwoman Sue Frost laid out priorities and her plan to solicit more participation from residents.
“My priorities remain clear — we need to ensure strong public safety, fix our roads, encourage economic development, support veterans and tackle the growing homeless problem,” wrote Frost in a Jan. 25 news update sent to media. The newly sworn-in supervisor said she will be taking 90 days “to assess our operations and establish systems that will enable us to best serve the residents and businesses in our district.”
Frost said she will also be continuing the tradition of “community cabinet meetings” set by former supervisor Roberta MacGlashan, who typically held about 10 meetings throughout the year at Denny’s in Citrus Heights. A calendar posted on Frost’s supervisor website indicates she isn’t promising as rigorous a meeting schedule as MacGlashan, with her calendar listing only four meetings in Citrus Heights for 2017 — in addition to other meetings with constituents in different parts of District 4.
Frost’s first cabinet meeting in Citrus Heights is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 24 at Denny’s, located at 6215 Sunrise Blvd. She said her primary goal for the meeting “is to listen to the community — but also to share my vision for District 4, provide a sneak preview into our operations at the County, and update you on current issues that could potentially impact Citrus Heights.”
The supervisor also announced plans to connect with constituents through “a regular email newsletter,” an upcoming survey, and by setting up informal Citizen Advisory Committees to address “the most pressing issues.”

District 4 includes the City of Citrus Heights, a portion of Folsom, and all or part of the communities of Orangevale, Antelope, Rio Linda, Elverta, Gold River, Rancho Murieta, North Highlands, Carmichael, Foothill Farms, and Fair Oaks.
