In honor of President’s Day, Citrus Heights-based Metro Fire Truck 23 joined with another ladder truck to fly a large American flag outside Mount Vernon Memorial Park on Greenback Lane, Monday.

“What a beautiful sight!” Metro Fire posted on their official Facebook account Monday afternoon, along with several photos of the flag. The large flag was fastened at either end of two extended fire truck ladders, to be seen by drivers traveling along Greenback Lane near Fair Oaks Boulevard.

The flag was flown as part of the memorial park’s annual “American Heritage Day,” scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 15. The event is designed to “bring history to life with period costumes and vendors that represent different moments of our American history,” according to the park’s website.

The memorial park is located at 8201 Greenback Ln. in Fair Oaks.
