
A 29-year-old man was arrested in Citrus Heights Saturday morning for “negligent discharge of a firearm,” following multiple reports of gun shots near Walnut Drive and Auburn Boulevard, according to a police news release.
Police said responding officers were “witness” to gunshots coming from a home on the 7500 block of Walnut Drive and set up a perimeter, with assistance from neighboring police departments. The man, identified as Eleh Pekun, exited the home at the request of officers and was safely detained, according to police.
The home was also searched for potential victims, after police said they received consent from Pekun, but none were found.
Police said Pekun was arrested for “negligent discharge of a firearm,” as well as vandalism and other weapons violations. A firearm and ammunition were also seized by police.
