Citrus Heights police said a 54-year-old man was arrested on charges of attempted murder and mayhem after allegedly inflicting multiple stab wounds to a man in Tempo Park near Fair Oaks Boulevard Wednesday night.
Around 10:23 p.m., police said officers were dispatched to the area of Tempo Park after neighbors reported hearing a man calling for help from the park. Shortly after, another caller reported a man had knocked on a door asking for help, according to a police news release.
Officers found the injured man and he provided them with a description of the suspect, who officers believed was still in Tempo Park. The suspect, Jose Partida of Carmichael, was located and arrested after officers set up a perimeter around the park, with assistance from Roseville police.
Although an investigation is still ongoing, police believe the two men involved knew eachother and said the stabbing “does not appear to have been a random act of violence.”
According to police, the stabbed man was rushed into emergency surgery at a local hospital and is expected to survive, although his injuries were described as significant.
